MAP INTERNATIONAL
Addressing some of the most pressing human rights challenges faced by displaced communities across the Global South

Established in 2022, MAP International works towards finding transformative and sustainable solutions to contemporary post-displacement issues. We do this by fuelling systemic change in national and global protections frameworks through legal empowerment, capacity building, research, and advocacy.

Out of this, nearly 32.5 million are refugees who fled their countries owing to persecution, conflict, violence, and other human rights violations. A bulk of refugees come from just five countries, namely, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, Afghanistan and South Sudan.
Nearly 74% of the world’s forced migrants are hosted in the Global South

MISSION
To catalyse and democratise effective
legal and other protection pathways
for displaced communities.
THEORY OF CHANGE
Today, the growing politicisation and securitisation of the migration experience has resulted in forced migrants being denied access to safe legal pathways, asylum systems, documentation and critical support services. As a result, they face severe rights violations including arbitrary detention, deportation, sexual violence, and exploitation.

Within this context, we seek to strengthen existing protection pathways for displaced communities in their host countries to ensure they lead a life of dignity.

INTERNATIONAL ADVOCACY
MAP International seeks to build strong connections with various UN and related multilateral agencies, to advocate on issues of direct and immediate concern to refugees and migrants located in the Global South.

Positioned as an intermediary, we see ourselves as being an effective vocaliser of ground realities with multilateral agencies like the UN which are headquartered in Geneva.
